"Nuestro DÃa en a Playa" XP 2023
Acrylic on canvas. I started this painting for a dear friend. It went through many phases and layers of paint... The first picture is its current state, it is currently unfinished. I was working on it up until the day I moved out of Miami and did not have enough time to finish all the birdies. I gifted it to my friend and one day I will finish it for him :)
Little backstory: on one of our many beach days, my friend and I saw a sandbar full of seagulls. We approached it slowly and sat right at the edge (where the perspective of the painting is from). For an hour we watched & talked about everything. I never want to forget these moments filled with patience, acceptance, vulnerability, appreciation, and lots of laughs. That is why I paint them :)
